Overview
As a Digital Asset Manager (DAM) you will be responsible for curating, organizing, documenting, cataloging, and managing all digital assets within our community. While this role requires a sharp analytical mindset, it is the crossover skills tied to people and how they interact with digital technologies that are equally important. The DAM will be equally skilled in people, processes, and technology in support of Stand Together’s community needs.
Your Responsibilities Include
- Create and maintain naming taxonomies and metadata scheme, tagging files with relevant and accurate metadata, enforcing asset file standards, and ensure application documentation is up-to-date
- Distribute and account for assets to internal users and external partners
- Ensure that digitization, ingestion, and photography are up to industry standards
- Provide quality control for all metadata to assure accuracy and consistency across the institution including the developing and managing of metadata tools, controlled vocabularies, and other metadata standardization solutions
- Assist in bringing existing assets up to appropriate standards, including reorganization of file directories and metadata cleanup projects
- Oversee the workflow of digital file assets (images and associated support assets) using a customized internal DAM application and a 1 Petabyte video asset server
- Update and maintain correct metadata and statuses for all assets for accuracy
- Coordinate the distribution and retrieval of image and support assets with multiple outsources using physical drives, servers, or an FTP client
- Responsible for ingesting media (photos, videos, sound files) from in-the-field shoots, organizing and prepping the assets for editing, and getting interviews off to transcription
- Liaise with partner departments to ensure accuracy of metadata in several database portals
Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization
- 3+ years of experience
- Bachelors degree in Communications, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience managing post-production workflows on mac media servers, using lightroom and bridge for photo tagging, and DaVinci Resolve and Media Encoder
- Expert level experience at media proxy workflows
