Experience (Other): I’m currently working with a major digital asset management software company. I tested Cumulus, Picturepark, Widen, Asset Bank, NetXposure, MerlinOne, Canto, WebDAM, Third Light, Exstensis and handful of other vendors. I also have experience with larger enterprise systems: ADAM, North Plains and Equella.
Summary: I am self-motivated and looking to use my strategic-level thinking, technical knowledge, and experience in Digital Asset Management in higher education or any other sector of this growing field. I work well in a team environment, across departments, or individually. I fell into Digital Asset Management after years of work as a professional photographer. I was the Lead Photographer and Web Content Manager for a design college in Boston, and while in that role, I was tasked with finding a Digital Asset Management system for the Marketing & Communications department. I personally tested a large number of vendors throughout the course of a year.
Shortly after settling on a system, I transitioned into the role of Project Manager and sole Administrator of the DAM. As of today, I have developed and implemented policy, standards, business workflows, metadata schema, controlled vocabularies, taxonomy design, determined and configured user groups and permissions, lead user training (both individual and group), and developed support pages with video tutorials on the institutional website. Governance, system evaluations, and collaborations with institutional librarians and archivists continue to shape our system. In addition, I conduct the day-to-day tasks that keep the DAM running smoothly. I enjoy working in Digital Asset Management, and my goal is to grow and continue to work within this diverse and ever changing field.
